| Bio: | I've been playing since the summer of 2000, on and off.
I've organized a bazillion tournaments, I started, and continued The Western Canada DDR Conference in 2003 and 2004 in Calgary. In 2005 Pickles continued with the Canadian DDR Conference in Winnipeg. (I helped with some advice on that one) I also organized the first Winter Conference (normally our conferences are during the summer only) in Calgary in 2005 - this was the first ever Tournament to take place on a Stepmania machine, in Canada at least. The final round was a 28-minute megamix - EvilPeer beat Pickles out by 1 DP. (The scores were something like 16,247 to 16,246) I've placed top 3 in most Calgary tournaments in the past few years. (at first I didn't, of course) My greatest tournament experience was flying to Toronto on a surprise trip and winning EverSnow 2k4. I also placed 3rd in the 2005 Canadian DDR Conference. I did not participate in the 2004 Western Canada DDR Conference, or the 2005 Winter Conference, because I was organizing those events. (I tried to participate and organize in 2003, and found that that was just too much of a hassle/problem for some people) My style of play is high-speed, (I like around 500) no bar, flat (on DDR) or robot (ITG 2). If I am forced to play ITG 1 I generally play Cell, or sometimes flat. I own Canada's only first and only DDR-style Stepmania machine. (There is also a PIU Stepmania machine in Kamloops...lol) My SM machine uses real DDR timing, with marvellous timing. (Or at least I used the values that I found, and they seem to be very close to correct.) My best accomplishment on the SM machine is passing M oni with a C. I've also squeaked by Invoke Oni with a D. (The machine life difficulty is set on 4.) I've entered TM4, TM4+, TM5, TM6, OSC3 & OSC4. TM4: Right Type of Mood (A 27 on Oni - it was a joke, people.) TM4+: Random K-Rap (That's not even the real name of the song) TM5: Stronger (I decided to go full sell-out to see if I could do decent - semifinals) TM6: The Canadian DDR Conference Theme 2005 (Just for the hell of it) OSC3: Sea of No Cares (Hehe...) OSC4: Superman (I need to redo these steps now that I've played them on pad) My endeavour in entering different simfiles is to try to encompass a wide variety of genres. So far I've got Reggae/House, Korean Rap, Pop, Trance (or something), Folk & Ska covered. My next entry will probably be Rock or Heavy Metal. I tried to AAA Disney's Rave, gave up because it was a pain. (Got 13/25 AAAs) Most AAAs are from playing random. Never AAAd anything by playing it more than once in the same game. I believe in overall consistency over one-time perfection. |
