||Started DDR in October of 2000 on DDR 3rd Mix
When I was n00b I used to play SSR with James a.k.a badDDRboy who was already quite a good player when I started. I'd play with him so I wouldn't die and could practice Maniac (Heavy) because once you chose SSR, "There are no easy choices in this mode!", you had to stay with it for the whole game...
I'd say it was due to this that I completely skipped Another (Standard) and went straight from Basic (Light) to Maniac (Heavy).
So then we upgraded to DDR 5th Mix and that was such a cool mix back in the day. We used to go to Update City to play 4th Mix aswell because Orbit never had 4th Mix. Around this time everyone in Perth just played for Full Comboes and didn't really pay much attention to their Perfect/Great counts.
So after playing lots of 5th Mix, we eventually upgraded to MAX2, Timezone used to have MAX so we went there to play the songs that weren't on MAX2. It was about this time I started working at Orbit I think. We started concentrating more on getting as many Perfects as we could on MAX2.
Got my first Heavy AAA on MAX2, Freckles and another 5 before Extreme came out, we got Extreme within a week of it coming out I think. Then the AAAs started flooding in.
Konami started not caring anymore, ITG came out, Orbit got it quite a while after it came out, then quite quickly ITG2 was out and we got that. So now ITG2 is in normally and if I want to play DDR Extreme I just put it in after work and play.
Currently only have 21 songs on Heavy/Challenge in Single mode that i have not AAA'd. I would love to finish them off, it looked as though I never would be able to because I was so crap at the harder 10's, but that seems to be changing now...
GOOD LUCK to everyone I hope you all get as much out of DDR as I have!
