I was introduced to it June 29th, 2004 by one of my best friends now, Bill, who is too lazy to create a profile on here and take challenges from me...bwhahahaha! lol! Anyhow, I never learnt that you could honestly play this game with your feet til a week later when I was actually tooken up to a Max 2 machine up at the campus' Union about 10 miles from here...I instantly fell in love with the game and was addicted. Anytime I was out in the town or anything, I would have to get a few games in, and I think it started to piss off my other friend, Chris because he had to go through it while I'm sure he wanted to just play Halo...lol! Anyhow, things progressed, I got better of course, and once school started and I was down there everyday, I grew past my expectations...and the funny thing was, everybody started to know me as the "DDR guy" considering I was there everyday either after class, or even skipping class just to get a few games in... I have since calmed down a little due to personal issues going on with me, including kidney stones and whatnot, but it hasn't stopped me from totally enjoying the game...just have to take a few days break here and there so I don't either over work my self or push myself to far and end up hurting myself even worse than I could be at the current time. I will admit I am a solo whore right off the bat...I used to hate solo until I realized how much easier it made the arrows stick out, and use that almost everytime I play...the only time I don't is when it's not allowed! Whether it be on a machine lower than Max or say at a tournament. I don't need speed mods nor solo to AA songs...hell, I've proven that by AA'ing several songs on a 5th mix machine and can pass almost all of Naoki Neo-Standard...damn you D2R...lol! It's just when it comes to actual gameplay and trying to have fun, or even trying to AAA a song, I will use speed mods and solo...*shrug* A few of my friends look down on me for it, and I know I shouldn't use them, but I have actually sort of become dependant on them...sad, I know...but it's just all that's come to me... Accomplishments I have made in the past 8 months or so playing...well geting to maniac was a big accomplishment, and honestly, I think my first maniac song was Era (nostalmix)...I fell in love with the triples at the end of the song, and told myself I would one day master that song, and what do you know...I have no problem usually AA'ing it on extra stage now...lol! Then of course there's all of the AA's I have managed to get in the past few months or so, and the 8 AAA's I have managed to obtain...lol! Butterfly, Kind Lady, Keep on Movin', Freckles, Think Ya Better D, We Will Rock You, Let's Get Down (Heavy), and Let's Groove...go figure right? lol! First AAA was March 13th, 2005...of course it was Butterfly...lol! The only other accomplishment would be having to pass PARANOiA Survivor...even though I will admit straight up I bar raped the crap out of the song...sure it's not something I'm proud of, and I used to hate bar rapers, but I've come to realize that my feet just aren't fast enough to keep up with 10 footers just yet, and as a resort, I have to use the bar...I was finally able to pass Max 300 though with barely a C, but that's still something I'm proud of......either than that, I have passed both Bag (Speed mods, so it doesn't really count...), and Sakura...both with a B or higher, so that's pretty cool. And if it means anything, I can pass almost all cata's...and am slowly but surely working on AA'ing as many as I can...got a few down at the moment. Other than that, that's me! I'm your basic college student who loves to DDR and loves the effects it not only has done to me physically, but even emotionally! DDR was honestly all of my life, but considering everything that's gone on and everything, it's slowly just becoming a part of my life and nothing more, but it's still nice to know how much my life has changed thanks to this game and how much it honestly has changed who I am today... |
