My Dancing game career has been quite the trip over the years, and it feels good to be playing again. In the very beginning a family friend brought a flimsy homepad with a copy of MAX for the playstation. I made fun of him for having such a stupid game, but then he finally convinced me to play. I was hooked for life. I would go to the mall and watch the people that were so much better than me and be amazed, until I finally worked up the courage to join DDRMaine. I was flamed, made fun of and widely hated. For good reason too, I was immature and annoying. (Not to mention twelve years old) Over time I slowly got better and worked my way into the community. Now nearly five years later I've gone from the worst, most hated player in Maine to the overall best and one of the core members for the DDR community in my state. It's funny how I progressed. If you had told me that I was going to get 3rd in a national dancing game tournament I would have laughed you out of the room. Feel free to add me to your friends list, it's always fun to talk to other players no matter where they're from. I don't usually have a camera, but I sometimes borrow my girlfriend's. In the strange event you don't believe one of my scores, send me a challenge to get a picture for it specifically and I can. I'm pretty decent at replicating my scores. The Maine DDR Time line: - The Maine Mall Dream Machine gets two machines. - Old Orchard Beach gets both a Dream Machine and a Palace Playland, both have DDR machines. - Power Up opens in its first location. the DDR community flourishes. - Old Orchard Beach loses its Dream machine, and the machines at Palace Playland begin to deteriorate rapidly. - Power Up moves around a lot, but continues to be our central place of gathering. - A new Supernova comes to OOB; We would find out later it wouldn't come back the next year. - Power Up closes. This is heralded as the beginning of the end of what was once the DDR community in Maine. - A machine comes to a local bowling alley. Things start looking good. - The bowling alley's screen soon breaks. Things start looking bad. - The Maine Mall Dream Machine, where 90 percent of us first stepped onto a DDR pad is now gone. The end is here with no working DDR machine in sight. - I can now only play when I travel to New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and I'm only one of the very few and the proud who still play from Maine. A Quad star on both singles and doubles. 17 FC on PSMO. Being able to stealth Disconnected disco expert doubles. AAAing Paranoia survivor Hopefully many are yet to be done. |
